This snowmobile adventure starts at Experience Arjeplog, Silvervägen 1 in Arjeplog. Our guide will introduce you to the snowmobiles and go through the itinerary as well as a few guidelines and a risk assessment. High quality thermo clothes and other necessary gear will be distributed, and after getting changed we are off towards our first stop in Vuonatjviken, where we will have lunch. Vuonatjviken is beautifully located on the northern shore of lake Riebnes. With stunning views of the mountains this might be one of the best lunches you’ll ever try.
With a fresh supply of energy we say goodbye to our hosts Janne and Eva in Vuonatjviken and continue towards Årrenjarka fjällby. Here we’ll spend the night in cosy and comfortable cabins. Enjoy a dinner made from the best local produce. Don’t be surprised to find reindeer, elk, arctic char and other local delicacies on your plate. After today’s journey and a nice dinner, a good night’s sleep is guaranteed.

As soon as breakfast is done we will begin our next leg, heading for Kebnekaise. Enjoy stunning scenery in one of the most beautiful and remote parts of Sweden. Lunch will be served somewhere near Lule river. A few valleys further north the landscape changes and higher mountains begin to appear. We pass just east of Sarek national park and the next stop is a coffee break in Nikkaluokta.
During the final kilometres nearing Kebnekaise Mountain Station it’s best to stay alert. Not necessarily due to difficult terrain, but rather because of the stunning scenery from the valley offering a magical view of the mountains in the distance. Once we’re checked in at the Mountain Station it’s probably not the standard of the accommodation that will impress, but the high alpine environment definitely will. Add to that all the adventurers who have gathered here to climb Sweden’s highest peak, but that’s a whole different story – let’s stay on the snowmobile tour.

From Keb – as it is locally known – there are two options for the next leg. Either back to Nikkaluokta and from there continue to Rautasjaure, through Lapporten and on to Abisko where we stop for lunch. Or we can choose to follow the King’s Trail, west of Kebnekaise, to arrive in Abisko from another direction. Once we’re on the frozen lake Torneträsk we’ve covered the better part of the more challenging terrain. We can look forward to driving through hills with sparse vegetation, making the final kilometres of our drive to Riksgränsen into one big playground, for those who still have fuel and energy left. We sum up our adventure with a good meal and comfortable beds, and our guide can look forward to a day of rest before firing up the engines once more, this time heading 500 km south…
